Establish Yourself as a Trusted Leader: A Road Map for New Supervisors

This course equips new and early-stage supervisors with essential skills to lead their teams effectively. Participants will learn practical strategies to build authority, credibility, self-confidence, and trust.

Establishing credibility as a new supervisor can be a daunting task. It requires the ability to communicate clearly, delegate, make decisions, and foster a positive team environment.

This course is appropriate for:

  • supervisors who need to improve soft skills
  • newly promoted supervisors
  • high-potential employees who will likely transition into supervisor roles

Participants will:

  • recognize the shifting dynamics that accompany their role change
  • establish a leadership mindset and convey “approachable” authority
  • learn techniques to support open communication and sound decision making
  • consider ways to consciously model integrity and positive leadership traits
  • foster an inclusive, healthy team environment
  • link team and organization values and objectives

Non-credit training programs are designed by a team of professionals from each respective field, providing you with effective face-to-face and web-based learning programs. Instructors/course mentors are actively involved in your learning experience, responding to any questions or concerns, as well as encouraging and motivating you to succeed. The training programs offered through Workforce Development are not part of academic degree programs.
